Headteacher's Welcome

Taywood Nursery School has served families of Burnley for over 90 years and is a Local Authority maintained Nursery School; with a Headteacher, a qualified Teacher and highly skilled Early Years Practitioners with qualifications Level 3 and above in Early Years Education. We also offer children opportunities to learn in our beautiful Forest School hosted by a qualified Forest School Practitioner.

At Taywood, we believe that all children should experience exciting learning opportunities; helping children to grow into confident and successful learners. All staff pride themselves in providing quality education for babies and children aged 9 months to 4 years, to ensure they receive the best start in life and a love of learning, helping to best prepare them for their transition to primary school.  

As a school, we offer term-time only places, including funded places from 9 months. We offer a Breakfast Club and After School Club as an additon to our school hours sessions. 

Our governors are very proud of our welcoming and nurturing Nursery School.

We strive to work closely with you as parents and families and value your involvement in your child’s development and education.  Our door is always open, so please arrange to visit our wonderful Nursery School to see all that we have to offer.
